The Self-Image Strategy is a presentation in which I describe the many underlying causes of a performer's habit to engage in negative self-talk, and the impact it can have on one’s technical and artistic growth. While sharing my own experiences in the highly-competitive ballet world, I discuss methods learned through mindfulness meditation and my work with notable Sports Psychologist Dr. Charlie Brown to create a positive and productive environment for oneself. My wish for each aspiring artist is to be able to approach the professional world with an openness to learn and improve while remaining a confident performer who truly knows his or her worth.
In the past few years, I've had the honor of sharing my message with reputable schools including Charlotte Ballet, BalletMet, Cincinnati Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts, New Ballet Ensemble, Coronado High School, A.L. Brown High School, Dance Institute in Austin, Open Door Dance Studios, Booth Playhouse at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, and more.
